Descriptions

​

This tree is critically endangered species. It found in Malaysia, Singapore and Asian countries. Native habitat for the tree is terrestrial rainforest and riverine. Delima Hutan can grow up to 25 m tall. It grows at the hill and lowland forest and often on the river banks. The tree flowers can attract butterflies and its fruits always eaten by birds, musang and civet. Delima Hutan can be propagated by seeds.

 

The trees have round fruits with pale apple-green colour, 2.5–5 cm wide, and split when ripe to expose many seeds in the orange to the reddish pulp. Its flowers are white to pale yellow, but finally turning to intense orange. Leaves have blades that are elliptic to reverse egg-shaped, measuring about 12-16 cm long. The trees required full sun with moderate to lots of water. The tree can be used in gardens and aromatherapy gardens.
