The evergreen Setumpol provides a moderately hard to hard and moderately heavy to heavy timber. It falls under medium hardwood. Setumpol is used for a general utility like furniture, flooring, moulding and partitioning.

The tree is a native habitat to a terrestrial of Malaysia rainforest, while the ornamental flowers are aesthetically pleasing. Due to that Setumpol has landscape implications. They are being recommended for street beautification and park design.
​
Similarly, like other terrestrial species, Setumpol prefers a full sun environment with moderate water for good growth. It is propagated from seed. At the local context, the ethnobotanical significance of Setumpol would refer to its medicinal usage.
